NASA has officially introduced the crew for its highly anticipated Artemis IV mission, marking a historic step forward in America's return to deep space exploration. Leading the mission is Commander Kayla Wong, who makes history as the first Asian-American woman chosen for a crewed lunar mission. Joining her are accomplished naval aviator Tom Herrera, biomedical engineer Dr. Alicia Griggs, and European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Lars Mueller, highlighting the international collaboration at the heart of the Artemis program.

Scheduled for an early 2027 launch, Artemis IV will be the first mission to dock with NASA's Gateway space station—a vital lunar orbiting outpost designed to support long-duration stays and facilitate future Mars expeditions. During the mission, the crew will perform geological sampling on the lunar surface, install advanced scientific instruments, and rigorously test next-generation propulsion, life-support, and communication technologies critical for sustainable space travel.
